Dr. Basu graduated Magna Cum Laude with High Honors from Princeton University and received his Medical Doctorate (MD) and Master of Public Health (MPH) degrees from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. He then completed his general surgery training at The George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery training at the prestigious Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery (Division of Plastic Surgery) at Baylor College of Medicine. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine for several years. Most recently, he received his MBA from Brandeis University.Dr. Basu has served on the Board of Directors for the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF), as the Chief of Plastic Surgery for the North Cypress Medical Center, as Chairman of the Patient Safety Committee for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and on the Board of Directors for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
